No wedding is ever going to be perfect. No matter how well planned everything is, there will always be little glitches here and there. Everything might not go as smoothly as you expect it to. If you believe in Murphy’s Law that says, everything that can go wrong, will go wrong, you better believe it’s never more true than at a wedding. That being said, it can’t help to try to at least plan for the perfect wedding.
Here are some tips to help you plan the perfect wedding.
- Plan your wedding at least a year in advance.
- Save time by looking for your vendors online. You can pre-qualify the vendors by price and style easily.
- Break in your wedding shoes before the wedding day.
- Have a bridal emergency kit with all the items you need for unexpected surprises.
- Have a rain backup just in case it rains. It doesn’t matter if it’s the middle of summer, rain has been known to happen anytime, especially on wedding days.
- Make sure you have a tissue on you at all times in case of tears.
- Don’t do everything by yourself. Delegate some of the wedding planning tasks to your bridesmaids or your groom or your family. If somebody else can do it half as well as you can, let them do it. Then you can be free to do other things and you just need to oversee everything.
- Assign somebody to be in charge of vendors and decisions on the wedding day. It could be your mom or mother-in-law or a cousin. It doesn’t matter who, just as long as there is a point person other than yourself that can coordinate all the little things that are needed on the wedding day.
- Make sure you and your groom both have your cellphone on you. Also make sure that the battery is charged. Have the best man or maid of honor be in charge of the cellphones before you leave for the church.
- Make sure all the vendors have your phone numbers as well as other contact persons just in case you can’t be reached. Other important contact persons are your wedding coordinator, your bridesmaids, your mother or mother-in-law or other people that can help if the vendors have questions.
- Get a good night’s sleep before the wedding.
- Make sure you eat something on the wedding day. Most brides get too busy that they forget to eat. You need your stamina because it is going to be a long day. You need to keep your energy up, especially for the pictures.
- Have cash on you for parking, tips or other little things that need to be paid.
- The most important thing is : have fun! It is your wedding day, after all.
